AST DEW TOUR interview

Dew Action Sports Tour interviewed Anthony Napolitan. It's short, yet interesting being we both started out riding at the same place.

Want to know more more about BMX Dirt pro Anthony Napolitan, 2006 Dew Cup Dirt champ and Ohio native? Well, here it goes! Stop number two of the AST Dew Tour marks a return to home for 2006 Dew Cup Dirt champ Anthony Napolitan. He's currently a resident of State College, Pennsylvania in order to take advantage of Woodward Camp's training facilities, but he cut his BMX teeth in the great state of Ohio, not far from where the Right Guard Open is held in Cleveland. He hails from Youngstown, and loves coming back to the Buckeye state every year to throw down on home turf.

Q: How far is Youngstown from Cleveland? A: It's about an hour southeast of Cleveland.
Q: Did you ride in Cleveland a lot coming up? A: Yeah, I've ridden Chenga 1 and 2, Ray's, all the parks around here.
Q: Do you have a lot of Ohio pride coming back here A: Yeah, I'm always happy to come back here, the fans are pretty psyched on me and that makes me even more psyched to ride.
Q: What would you say was the biggest influence on your riding when you were growing up in Ohio? A: Definitely the Section 8 skatepark in Youngstown. Those ramps were amazing. They were big ramps, so I grew up used to that. There were so many different obstacles to learn stuff on at that park.
Q: You recently got to throw out the first pitch at a Cleveland Indians game, thanks to the Dew Tour. What was that experience like? A: It was fun. I actually got a baseball and practiced the day before to make sure I wasn't that dude rolling the ball into home plate. I did the pitch and that was sweet, then I got to sing the seventh-inning stretch, the "Take me out to the ball game" song. I had this woman help me out, she was all psyched to do it, so I was like, "All right, come sing it with me." There were a bunch of other people helping out too, so it wasn't too bad.
